Vegan Vanilla Crescents

Christmas is around the corner, and so is the time for Christmas cookies.

Food is always about creating and sharing beautiful moments with your loved ones, and this is especially true for Christmas time.

Baking some homemade cookies is the best way to give back and share a little bit of happiness.

Whether your family eats vegan or not, everyone will love these delicious vegan vanilla crescents.

These cookies are

  • easy to prepare

  • taste delicious, and

  • look beautiful

They are made with all-purpose flour, ground almonds, vanilla powder, some sugar, and vegan butter.

Simply mix all the ingredients into a consistent dough and there you go. If you have one, use a kitchen machine for forming the dough, but you can also use your hands instead.

It’s important that all of the ingredients are combined well and no flour remains.

Then, you wrap it in cling foil or seal it in a plastic container and add it to your fridge for at least 1 hour. This is important for the dough to firm up.

Heat your oven to 150°C (300°F) around 20 minutes before you start forming the cookies. This way, it’s heated perfectly when the cookies are ready to bake.

After the 1 hour has passed, take out the dough, and form the vanilla crescents.

You can form little balls, then roll them in your hands until they become longer, and make sure they turn slimmer at the sides. Form into a crescent shape, and place on a baking tray layered with baking parchment.

Once you’ve formed all the cookies, bake them in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until they turn slightly brown.

Take them out and let them cool down. As a final step, simply decorate them by sprinkling some powdered sugar on top.

These Vegan Vanilla Crescents will be the perfect little treat for you and your family during Christmas time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup ground almonds
  • 1/2 cup sugar, here coconut blossom sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter
  • 3 tbsp oat milk
  • To garnish
  • 1/4 cup powder sugar

Instructions

Mix all the dry ingredients together first, then add the vegan butter and oat milk.

Mix well with your hands or using a kitchen machine and press into a firm dough.

Make a firm ball and wrap it into a cling film.

Then add to the fridge for at least 1 hour to become firm.

Pre-heat the oven before baking to 150°C (350°F).

After 1 hour, take out the dough, split into small balls, and shape each one into a crescent form. Place on a baking tray layered with baking parchment.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until they turn golden brown, then take out.

After they are cooled down, garnish with powder sugar.
